About BELINDA

Belinda Wrigley is a contemporary painter based in London. She paints atmospheric figurative scenes, capturing fleeting, often unseen, imagery of urban life, which she then develops into an imagined narrative. Through combining the everyday with elements of mystery, her paintings aim to evoke a sense of the ‘other-worldly’ drawn from the ordinary.

The materiality of the paint is important in her paintings. She works primarily in oils and acrylics and uses layers, washes and thicker textures to ensure each work develops its own physical presence beyond the image.
